Staying in Bude for a surf holiday and want to know where is best to go surfing? There are plenty of really great surfing beaches in and around Bude. The coast of North Cornwall is peppered with them.
If you have just started surfing, here is a quick list of surfing beaches that you may want to visit. But before you do, check the beaches for lifeguard cover. It is important that when surfing, you are safe.
If you are rocking up at a beach you have never surfed before take ten minutes to study where the waves are breaking and where the rips are. Take note of how other surfers in the water are entering and exiting the water.
Summerleaze beach is great for beginners and is really friendly. Head to Summerleaze at high tide for clean waves when the surf is really big or when it is windy. There is a great right hander that runs all the way across the beach from just in front of the sea pool.
Widemouth beach is more popular with intermediates and locals. When the banks are good this beach can provide some nice lefts and rights straight out the front of the car park.
Northcott Mouth, Sandymouth and Duckpool are great if you just want to get away and surf some waves with not too many people around.
Wherever you go be respectful and only surf in conditions that you know you can handle. See you out there!
